Role: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Vancouver / Toronto / Montreal / Remote


Your new company
Our client, a Service Business focused growing company, is looking to hire multiple Senior Software Developers on a full-time permanent basis. These roles can be based in Vancouver (where the company hold their HQ), Montreal, Toronto, or remotely. The roles are available due to recent success and aggressive growth plans through the next 2 years. Our client are innovative, expanding, and are building an excellent reputation within their sector.

Your new role
As a Senior Software Engineer you will work with and lead teams of engineers build critical system features on the client platform. You will identify learning opportunities for team members and be a mentor for more junior level engineers. You are naturally curious and will independently introduce, drive adoption and facilitate the learning of new tools, patterns and practices. Your daily goals will include designing solutions to subtle, poorly-defined problems, as well as define and build complex full-stack systems. You will audit architectural capabilities and define improvement strategies, as well as lead team ceremonies and unblock constraints, and also run workshops to support introduction of or improvement around key technologies. Importantly, you will be an advocate for the organization engineering culture and lead by example.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong software engineering fundamentals (algorithms and data structures)
• Javascript, NodeJS
• Front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, Svelte etc.)
• Full-stack testing patterns
• API design (API and GraphQL)
• CI / CD tools and patterns
• Public cloud architecture (Azure, AWS or GCP)

Nice to have skills

• Typescript
• Google Cloud Platform
• Performance optimization strategies for high-volume, low-latency web applications
• Terraform
• Cloud security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies
• Query performance and data synchronization optimization strategies
• Contributes to the development of best practices in the wider engineering industry
