Program Manager, GitHub Classroom
GitHub Education launched in 2012 with the mission of empowering student developers. Seven years later, the program has enabled more than 1 million students to learn to code with real-world tools. The team has grown to accommodate the needs of university students, bootcamp learners, schools, and teachers at all levels.
One of our signature products, GitHub Classroom, helps teachers implement real-world workflows in their courses. Over 20,000 teachers have used Classroom to manage 250,000 unique assignments, distribute starter code, and monitor student progress. Classroom is an open source project with an active community of contributors.
We seek a Program Manager to own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for GitHub Classroom. This role will split their time working internally with an engineering team and product designer, and externally with the open source community around Classroom. This role is vital to the long-term success of GitHub Education, and will report to the Director of Developer Education.
